Mediation Services
Family Mediation is a dispute resolution process which can help separating couples to reset and sort out their areas of conflict through respectful conversation in a confidential setting. Mediation services are now considered the first choice for couples to avoid litigation and the stress of the court system. Mediation is a voluntary process which enables the couple to address topics such as parenting plans, support payments and property division in a timely, cost effective and cooperative manner.
Ultimately, the Mediator will summarize all of the agreed upon decisions made by the couple in a document called a Memorandum of Understanding which can be used as a reference guide or even a framework for finalizing a Separation Agreement, following independent legal advice.

Once we have received acknowledgement that the Application was received, an Affidavit is prepared for your signature and filed with the Court. A Justice of the Superior Court will review the documents and once satisfied that all matters have been resolved, sign the Divorce Order. The Divorce Order will take effect thirty-one days after it is signed and a Certificate of Divorce will be requisitioned to complete the matter.
