Dr. Michael Gerstner, B.A. Adv., D.M.D. (Man.) Cert. Family Mediation (York U)
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dr. Mike relocated to Fort Frances in 1991. Accustomed to lake living in the Interlake area north of Gimli, he immediately felt at home in Northwestern Ontario. He is the proud father of two high school kids. Dr. Mike was continually active in sports by either participating in or spending many seasons coaching his kids in hockey in both NWO and Minnesota. Fishing, golfing, and camping have taken Mike to many beautiful areas in the North.
Dr. Mike received his B.A. advanced (Psychology) at the University of Manitoba. During his pre-Masters year, he enjoyed his time working in the Psych. research department. He complemented his studies by working as a residential counsellor, as well as doing volunteer work as a Crisis counsellor in Winnipeg. Upon completion of his science program at the University of Winnipeg, Dr. Mike graduated in 1991 from the University of Manitoba Dental School with the top of his class honour.
Dr. Mike spent more than 25 years taking care of his patients in the Fort Frances area as a partner at the Fort Frances Dental and Emo Dental Centres. In 2019, personal life lead him to pursue a great new opportunity which he currently enjoys at the Viva Dental Office in Dryden, on a permanent part-time basis as well as running the Fort Frances law office. During this time, he followed his original path and earned his Family Mediation certification from York University. He is now looking forward to bringing his energy and skills to his clients in Dryden, Fort Frances and the entire Northwestern Ontario region and offering them the help, benefits, and resources that the Mediation process can provide.
